Finance Systems & Operations Lead

What We're Looking For

Required

• Strong accounting fundamentals and experience with financial statements, reconciliations, and financial operations.
• Hands-on experience in FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management.
• Experience building or improving finance processes, reporting systems, or operational workflows.
• Strong spreadsheet and financial modeling skills.
• Comfort working with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, or similar platforms.
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and communicate directly with executive leadership.
• Professional English proficiency.
• Based in Latin America, with availability for regular overlap with U.S. working hours.

Strongly Preferred

• Experience supporting startups, founder-led businesses, agencies, or small holding companies.
• Experience with multiple business entities.
• Experience implementing automation using tools such as Make, Zapier, n8n, Power Query, or similar.
• Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or AI-assisted data-analysis workflows.
• Experience creating financial dashboards using Power BI, Looker Studio, or similar.
• Previous experience working directly with founders or business owners.

What Success Looks Like

In your first 90 days, we'd love to see:

• A clear assessment of our current financial systems and priorities.
• More reliable and consistent financial reporting.
• A working rolling cash-flow forecast.
• A practical financial dashboard for the CEO.
• Documented improvements to key accounting and finance workflows.
• An initial roadmap for automation and multi-entity reporting.

What You'll Own

1. Financial Operations & Accounting

• Establish reliable monthly financial reporting and close processes.
• Maintain visibility into revenue, expenses, profitability, and cash positions.
• Improve accounting workflows, reconciliations, and data accuracy.
• Create clear processes for founder expenses, reimbursements, and personal/business separation.
• Coordinate with external U.S. accountants and tax specialists as needed.

2. FP&A, Budgeting & Cash Flow

• Build and maintain operating budgets and financial forecasts.
• Develop a rolling 13-week cash-flow forecast.
• Create dashboards and reporting that help the founder make informed decisions.
• Analyze business performance, identify risks, and highlight opportunities.
• Build financial models that can evolve as the portfolio grows.

3. Finance Systems & Automation

• Evaluate existing tools, spreadsheets, accounting systems, and workflows.
• Identify opportunities to eliminate repetitive manual work.
• Build practical automations and integrations across finance tools.
• Experiment with AI to improve reporting, reconciliation, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Document scalable processes and standard operating procedures.

4. Multi-Entity Financial Infrastructure

• Help design financial reporting across multiple businesses and legal entities.
• Establish consistent categorization, reporting, and documentation standards.
• Improve visibility into shared costs and intercompany activity.
• Build a finance architecture that can scale without unnecessary complexity.

5. Founder Partnership

• Work directly with the CEO to identify priorities and solve financial problems.
• Translate complex financial information into simple, actionable recommendations.
• Proactively identify gaps, risks, and opportunities.
• Take ownership of solutions from initial diagnosis through implementation.

• Type: Part-time / Fractional Contractor

• Hours: Approximately 10–20 hours per week initially

• Compensation: $25–$40 USD/hour, depending on experience

• Location: Remote — Latin America

We need someone who combines strong accounting fundamentals, hands-on financial planning and analysis (FP&A), technical curiosity, and a genuine enthusiasm for AI and automation.

You'll take ownership of turning fragmented financial information, manual workflows, and evolving business processes into a clear, reliable, and increasingly automated finance function.
